The Alabama Forestry Commission is proposing to repeal an existing administrative regulation and replace it with a new one. Currently, Rule 390-X-6-.05 of the Alabama Administrative Code governs reciprocity for persons who are certified prescribed burn managers in other states. Under the current proposal, that rule would be repealed, because Rule 390-X-6-.02 separately allows recognition of equivalent or prior training irrespective of the state in which a person’s training is received. In place of the existing rule, a new rule would be added which specifies fees that can be charged by the Forestry Commission for prescribed burning training and certification. The amounts included in the proposed rule are maximum fees. At present, the Forestry Commission does not intend to raise fees above their current levels.
